Exploration of Ras Mumlah – Ras Mumlah is a stunning recreational dive site with a steep wall and drop off from 20 meters. This site offers a number of small caves, large chimneys and fissures, with stunning deep water corals, and the frequent visit of large pelagic hunters such a Sharks and Rays. We are currently undertaking a complete mapping and exploration of the Ras Mumlah dive site from this 20 meter drop off, down to approximately 100 meters. In particular, we plan to locate and explore the infamous ‘cave system’ in this area. |

Exploration of Ras Abu Galum – Ras Abu Galum is well known in Nuweiba and Dahab for its stunning recreational dive sites. The steep walls and drop offs here descend to over 100 meters, offering an additional fascination for technical divers. The strong currents often present at depth make the complete mapping of the area more challenging, but we are undertaking the first site by site deep mapping project, beginning in the next few weeks, and aimed to be completed before summer 2010. |

Search for the Ferry wreckage – In 19XX, the ferry from Nuweiba to Aquaba caught fire in the Nuweiba harbour. Unable to extinguish the fire, the decision was taken by the port authorities to launch the boat to drift out and sink away from Nuweiba and her inhabitants. The boat drifted, engulfed in flames, in a Southerly direction, before sinking between the harbour and the Myserique area. Fishermen have reported hitting the boat with their long fishing lines over the years, placing the boat at around 50 to 60 meters in depth. We are currently in the planning stage for the discovery and exploration of this never before dived wreck and are awaiting information from the boat owners and harbour authorities to allow us to proceed further. In the next few weeks, we will be making the first dives to confirm the exact location and depth of this wreck, and plan her further exploration. |
